We’re incredibly proud to announce our collaboration with Mexican symphonic folk metal band CABRAKAÄN to produce a documentary:
Journey to Aztlán: A Story of Cultural Identity, Music and Metal as Medium
Release Date: 2023
JOURNEY TO AZTLÁN is about finding and holding on to cultural identity through the power of metal. Follow CABRAKAÄN as they record their third album, reflect on music as an expression of their cultural identity, and show how they keep strong ties to their roots as newcomers to Canada.
The documentary will feature exclusive studio session content, in-depth interviews, pre-hispanic instrument performances and much more. We’d like to extend our gratitude Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre and a hub of community and culture for their collaboration and generously providing us an incredible filming location. Many thanks also to Cody Anstey of CRM Sound Studio for having us in-studio to capture the studio sessions!
Be sure to watch the teaser video for a sneak peek!
